Σήμερα μαθαίνουμε τα χρώματα που βλέπουν οι μέλισσες και μερικά μυστικά για τις αποχρώσεις που πρέπει να βάφουμε τις κυψέλες μας. Όπως γνωρίζετε η μέλισσα δεν βλέπει σαν εμάς! Η μέλισσα έχει τελειως διαφορετική όραση απο την δική μας, δηλαδή ενώ εμείς βλέπουμε κόκκινο η μέλισσα το βλέπει μαύρο, ενώ το άσπρο το βλέπει σαν πράσινο-μπλέ. Συνεπώς όταν βάφουμε τις κυψέλες μας, πρέπει να λαμβάνουμε πολύ σοβαρά υπόψη μας αυτές τις μικρές λεπτομέρειες, για να μην γίνεται καθόλου παραπλάνηση και να έχουμε υγιέστατα παραγωγικά μελίσσια.
Τρία είναι τα βασικά χρώματα που πρέπει να βάφουμε τις κυψέλες μας. Πρώτο το πράσινο, μετά το άσπρο, και μετά το μπλέ. Γενικά για τα δεδομένα της Ελλάδας προτιμούμε ανοιχτόχρωμες κυψέλες που αποβάλλουν τη θερμότητα. Αλλά αυτά τα χρώματα τα ξεχωρίζουν και εύκολα οι μέλισσες.
Όταν τοποθετούμε τις κυψέλες πρέπει να μην βάζουμε ίδια χρώματα δίπλα δίπλα. Για παράδειγμα η μια κυψέλη άσπρη, η διπλανή της πράσινη, η άλλη δίπλα μπλέ και πάει λέγοντας. Έτσι εμποδίζουμε τις μέλισσες να μπερδευτούν και να μπούν σε ξένη κυψέλη. Αλλά πολύ περισσότερο βοηθάμε τις νεαρές βασίλισσες που γονιμοποιούνται να έχουν επιτυχία κατα την επιστροφή τους!
